Abstract
The provision of public social services by private entities acquires significant relevance in the management of social policies in Spain. Non-profit organizations dedicated to social action are directing their management models towards the provision of social services that outsource the different public administrations. This paper reviews the social entrepreneurship opportunities generated from the field of social services in Spain. It also analyzes, from an auto ethnographic perspective, the experiences carried out by the entities of the Associative Movement of Physical and Organic Disability of the Province of Almeria (Spain). The five social entities shown have 857 employees, 71.6 % of them with disabilities, and with a turnover of 12.4 million euros. In this context, the objectives of this paper are to reflect on the dimensions of social entrepreneurship and to discuss the participation in the development of social services by this entrepreneurial movement, which now plays a vital role in the design and implementation of social policies.
