Analysis of the Relationship Between Mental Health and Human Discontent at Work

Abstract

The main purpose of this research was to analyze the contributions of the Freudian proposal for understanding and intervening in human discontent and in social interaction in contemporary work environments. We also sought to establish the effects of capitalist discourse on labor subjectivity and mental health of the Colombian worker. The methodology used was that of the documentary analysis of Sigmund Freud’s classics works, “Civilization and Its Discontents,” “The Future of an Illusion,” and “Group Psychology and the Analysis of the Ego”. From this documentary trilogy, we made a brief presentation of the proposed analysis and intervention model in order to highlight the constituent elements of the strategy. Finally, we present some of the results in interpretative analysis categories and the first conclusions about the initial implementation of the proposed model.
