Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to present the most relevant aspects of intraregional trade in the auto parts and metalworking sectors of the department of Santander, Colombia, between the years 2012 and 2015. To that end, we applied the intra-regional trade, extra-regional trade, and trade intensity indicators to the tariff chapters on the auto parts and metalworking sectors of that department. As a result, it was determined that trade of these tariff chapters occurs with countries other than the country members of the Pacific Alliance. The methodology of the article is based on the indicators provided by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) to measure business dynamism, and the purpose is to show the international trade behavior of the auto part and metalworking sectors of Santander in order to generate strategies that drive the region’s development.
