Quality of employment for men and women: A study from informality, underemployment and perceptions

Abstract

The unemployment rate as an indicator of social and economic performance in developing countries usually shows fallacies that do not account for the way workers engage in society. Thus, the need arises to study what is happening to the quality of work that, for the purposes of this document, we decided to address from informality, underemployment and the satisfaction reported by workers in their jobs. Based on a description of some variables that are part of these three dimensions, it was possible to determine that, although men and women report similar levels of satisfaction in their work, informality falls more heavily on men, while underemployment is found similarly in both sexes.
