Abstract
Insurances become a necessity, as well as the importance lo speak anolher language. The business world requires thal the knowledge about insurances is indispensable, that is why in this paper the growth and development of the insurance sector is analyzed vis-a-vis the necessihes of small and medium family enterprises, slarling from of the history the future perspectives of 125 years of the first Colombian insurance companies. It studies the implications of the insurance sector in the cultural evolution on this kind of companies, de termining some of the reasons that created distrust between insurance companies and the insured, demands and warranties are evaluated at the moment of making a contract of a insurance policy, as well as the necessary documents and requirements to claim in case of an accident, to conclude that regarding insurance the cultural model of Colombians is kept sluck, the distrust and misunderslandings between the customer and the agent are the common denominator of a business that has as a fundamental principle the good faith, then.
