Abstract
The main purpose of this article is to show how the development models have been implemented but not been part of the solution for which they were created. First, the primary concepts for economical growth are described. They are shown as a necessity of economy progress without the implicit idea that they are enough to improve conditions. This can be seen in the limitations of the changes proposed since the Washington Consensus. Later, some alternative methods are discussed and it is concluded that only from diversity and without the search of homogenous models, it is possible development alternatives for humanity, which is the principal idea explicit in the Barcelona Forum.
