Abstract
lt is necessary to reconsider the paradigm of development followed by nations as well as the concept of human welfare. The United Nations Development Plan (UNDP) is an alternative, taking into account that it focuses its approach on the humanistic axis. Although it has been debated but not completely accepted by the main world powers, it is evident that a new system in which human beings are able to reach equality should be promoted, and in which the difference between rich and poor could be counteracted. This article tries to make a reflection on this alternative model and gives some guidelines for the education in the agricultural sector, to educate professionals interested in the sustainable human development as La Salle University does.
