The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the sociocultural sustainability level in a coastal territory of the Colombian Caribbean, as
well as comparing its behavior with that of other tourist destinations. The research uses the case study method with a qualitative
focus, implementing twelve indicators to evaluate the sociocultural sustainability of tourism through surveys and secondary
sources consulted. The findings made it possible to identify similarities in terms of gender equality and significant discrepancies
regarding penetration, accessibility, and satisfaction of residents with tourism. The work concluded identifying the need to carry
out these measurements periodically through a follow-up and monitoring strategy, which would maximize its relevance and
strengthen the planning and management processes of tourism at the local level.
