This research work was developed with a focus on rural youth from the Department of Caldas (Colombia), who are studying educational programs within the framework of the “The University in its Territory” project. The objective of this study is to analyze the incidence of the socio-demographic profile and attitudes towards entrepreneurship, on the intention of territorial permanence of rural youth in the Department of Caldas. Based on a quantitative analysis with 16 approach variables, it achieved the response of 368 young people located in the six subregions. In the socio-demographic profile, four variables were significant due to the relationship with the interest in remaining in the territories (p<0.05), highlighting the role of the family. In the profile of entrepreneurship attitudes, almost all the variables were significant (p<0.05). The interest in the environmental impact and the local and community impact of the venture stands out. It is necessary to move towards the perspective of rural entrepreneurship with a sustainability focus.
