Articulation of Theoretical Repertoires and Transformations of Work

Abstract

The transformations that have taken place over the last four decades in different areas have created a new world scenario for business management. In this context, disciplines and sciences aimed at studying work and management show a relative theoretical crisis, since there is a need for new conceptual repertoires and theoretical references to account for the current complex work dynamics, as in many cases the concepts attempting to describe and explain the facts and phenomena associated with the peoplework- organization relations are outdated. This article provides a critical reflection on the complexities in work management and discusses the need to guide research efforts so as to update and develop alternative approaches, perspectives, concepts and theorizations allowing us to understand and explain the psychological, social and work-related facts and phenomena in today’s work contexts.
