Analysis of Environmental, Commercial, safe and Healthy Practices in Rural and Urban Artisan Communities in Cali

Abstract

The objective of this article is to document the experiences and results of the project “Technical Assistance for Environmental management, safe and healthy practices in rural and urban artisanal communities, Cali 2023", based on the potential of the artisan of the handicraft sector in the popular economy and its contribution to the Colombian economy, supported by tradition, culture, in the environmental, commercial, social and labor dimensions. Artisan communities in Cali and its rural areas were invited so that various group and individual meetings were held with artisans in their territories and other agreed-upon spaces.
The identification and selection of the participating artisan communities was carried out, by characterizing the population of interest through a rubric for the identification of needs and a interview data collection instrument This made it possible to propose a plan of action aimed at training and advice tailored to the artisan and the artisan community, as well as the  development of a pilot test of a web-based application for the strengthening competencies in digital economy.
