The purpose of this work is to identify the factors that influence the quality of employment in workers in the city of Villavicencio, Colombia, for this, the synthetic index was used to calculate the quality of employment per salaried worker, independent worker and the total number of employed workers. After this, a model with instrumental variables was estimated in two stages. The results show that the variables education, being a man, age, work experience and size of the company cause a positive effect on the employment quality index in independent workers, salaried workers and the total number of employed people, in the city of Villavicencio. while workers who are separated see a negative effect on the employment quality index.
