Abstract
Forced displacement has been a direct result of the proliferation of armed groups; however, literature on the subject argues that it is also the conditions of the regions that promote suitable environments for crime and conflict to take hold of territories and for the civilian population to be directly affected. The purpose of this document is to establish the causal link between the forced displacement of population and socio-economic conditions of the regions that expel them. The article determines the influence of the economic activity and inequality in regional displacement indicators, as well as the role of violence. Quantile estimates were used for the purposes proposed, which make it possible to differentiate the effects between the municipalities with higher flows of forced displacement.
