Abstract
This essay altempts to establish the bases to analyze a possible coordination and coherence between macroeconomic and education policies in Colombia from 1990 to 2005, following an approach to connect the political game wilh the process of state decision-making in a social area like education. It intends to overcome the methodology ruled by the absolute decision or planning of the benevolent dictator. Therefore, the foundalions of political economics that guide the Colombian macroeconomic policies, the definilion of education policy are examined and some outcomes relaled to it are shown. Finally the planning framework of the Colombian education policy is studied.
